She has served as president of the Society for Seventeenth-Century Music and chaired the Music Department at City College for fifteen years.

A concise history of western music paul the title is accurate this is truly a concise history of western music particularly the music of the church my music professor thought a few sections were a little too simplistic and was able to provide more context in those areas but on the whole it was a really helpful book and i learned a lot about where the church has been musically through the centuries
